BMW 320 Touring photoshoot

October 7th, 2010 Dennis No comments

Time for something recent. I took some shots of this car on a location which seemed pretty useful, but I had my doubts. However, after doing what I like best, processing the photo’s in Adobe Lightroom, I was pretty happy with the results!

Workshop Natuurpark Lelystad

April 18th, 2010 Dennis No comments

As a birthdaygift, my parents gave me a workshop, which they read about in Landleven Magazine. This workshop is done by Steven Ruiter. My dad and sister also got this present. So, of we went to Natuurpark Lelystad. Steven walked us through his experience, techniques and tips & tricks.

I’ve made a selection of shots, from which I have to choose the top five, which will then be sent to and jugded by Steven. Oh my, I feel like I’m back in school again! I’m looking forward to the comments…

Anyhow, here’s the selection!

My current top 5 is…

Upcoming updates from the past :)

November 24th, 2009 Dennis No comments

It has been a while… (it seems I always start with this message)

A been able to add a couple of things to my been there, done that list!
In short, a book was finally published after two years, in which my photo´s make up about half of the total amount of graphics. It´s called “Die scheep is moet varen” (A Dutch saying, meaning; “If you start something, complete it”.

The 25th of august, the first copy was offered to Wim de Bruijn http://www.flickr.com/photos/wawijnbergh/3856935994/

* Edit: I only just now learned that Hans Vandersmissen, the author of the book has passed away.  In your lifetime you meet special people who stand out from the crowd in one way or another. Hans Vandersmissen stood out in a couple of ‘m.  Rest in Peace…

Besides the book, there was something else.
In short, somebody called asking if I could do a short-notice photoshoot of 11 objects (buildings) in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Still not knowing the precise details, I still agreed. Turned out that the array of photo´s would be printed in 2 x 1 meters… per photo. I still have to go over to the office in which they´re being displayed to take a picture.

Must be impressive though, looking at 22m2 of your own work!

Time for a refresh. Well… with old photo’s that is.
I do think that these are worth showing, and there are more,
but for the time being you’ll have to do with a external link.

Ps: In the upcoming couple of months, pictures from another
photoshoot will be published in a book! More on that subject later…

Rally Emmeloord

March 19th, 2007 Dennis No comments

Well, to start with something negative… Too much asphalt! And Emmeloord is situated in the “Noordoost Polder”. A vast, open, flat and windy place of The Netherlands. Oh yeah, we didn’t have much time either, so we only visited 2 stages and the service area.

But… we did manage to take some pictures. Check them in the main gallery.

Global warming, got to love it!

December 29th, 2006 Dennis 1 comment

Why? How about being able to go sailing, the second week of december, without having to break ice and freezing your balls off? I took some shots, and obviously, I was in a “face-mood”. Let me explain… I don’t have one particular interest, style or method when it comes to photography. In general I just shoot what ever catches my eye and at the end of the day I find out that there is a red line. Well, the red line was “faces”.

I’ve posted some images in the main gallery under “December Sailing”.

Mercedes Benz CLK DTM AMG cabriolet

November 14th, 2006 Dennis No comments

Every car brand produces something extreme every once in a while. So did Mercedes Benz. Now, I happen to know someone at a Mercedes Benz dealership.

AMG 1

Put the two together and Dennis jumps in his car to go and do a shoot of the latest extreme machine from the MB company. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a one-brand-fan. I’m a “wolf-in-sheeps-clothing” extreme machine technique lover!

So, how special is this car then? Well, there are more Ferrari Enzo’s in this world. 199 More to be precise. Only 100 will be produced of both chassis. (convertible and coupe) Personally, I like the coupe even more than this convertible. It has more bite to it and has a few very nice details. Like a carbon fibre torsion bar right behind the front seats.

So, how about some specs? This car does 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, Vmax is limited at 320 km/h, it has a 5.5 litre V8 with a massive compressor, which produces 582 bhp.

The body is made completely out of carbon fibre. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen so much Carbon in or on one car. Not even on a race car. The donor for this type of car is a default CLK 200, which is completely ripped a part by AMG, but boy it leaves the shops looking good!

AMG 2

I’ve got to buy myself a mobile carstudio one day… The DTM AMG is placed right in the front row in the showroom. Like somebody would miss it… It’s pretty close to the entrance and to another car (a brand new S series) so I didn’t have much room to manouvre.

And the problem with shooting cars in general is the fact that you always have the disturbing backgrounds. A bit of photoshopping then? No. I would have to recreate the windshield so that it appears to have a big empty space behind it. Cutting out the car itself and placing it in another surrounding isn’t too difficult. Ah well, one day…

Check out more images in the gallery, folder… ah, you guess it.
