New lens!
I stopped all my biddings. Why? I found this site, www.secondlifecameras.com
I found this 500mm M42 mount lens. An oldy of course.
In order to fit this lens, you need a M42 EOS adapter, which I’d already bought. So I went over to the company in Soest. When I arrived and wanted to check the lens, the tap seemed to be deformed. Old transport damage probably. The man told me he had several other “big ones” and took two others from the shelf. One of them was to be mine 15 minutes later! It was / is the Meyer Telemegor f/5.5 400. Along with that I bought a Soligor 2x extender. So the lot totals at 1280mm ! (400 x 2 x 1.6) I will be uploading some files in the near future.

Hi Dave,
I’m not really into Nikon material, but my guess is (will look it up) that M42 adapter’s excist for Nikon also. Ah, indeed:

The lens itself is a tank! I must be honest, I barely use it. I just wanted to see what it could do. I’ve managed to shoot some pretty good photo’s of the moon with it. For action pictures… forget it. It’s all manual you see.
The price. I don’t really remember. I think I paid about 50 euro’s for it, or even 25. And the going rate on Ebay was 125 euro’s at the time. (3 years ago) Looking at the prices on Ebay now… mmm. I think I did well
I saw this same lens for sale on EBay but I can’t really find much information on it. It looks like a well made German lens. I shoot with a Nikon D200, is there any way this lens can be adapted? What should one expect to pay for it?
Thanks for your time,
David
